How should I dress for services?
Men can wear a suit or just slacks and a short or long sleeve shirt (or sweater, depending on the weather).  Kippot (head coverings) are optional and are provided in the foyer. Tallit (prayer shawls) for the Saturday morning service are also optional and are likewise provided in the foyer.

Women can wear a dress or dressy slacks and a blouse. We ask that women dress somewhat modestly, that is, not with very short skirts, low tops,  or exposed mid sections.

What can I expect when I attend services?
Our services include worship songs in both Hebrew and English. All lyrics are displayed in transliterated English fonts and they are usually easy for those unfamiliar with Hebrew to pick up or to sing at least the English part.  Our desire is that everyone be engaged in the worship experience.  There is often an opportunity for those who would like to join in dancing. If you would like to learn the dances, there are workshops on the 2nd and 4th Saturday at 9:00 AM (Please call to make sure that particular workshop is not canceled).  On Saturdays, the Torah scrolls are read. This is a moving experience for those who are present. The services include an encouraging message, and on Saturdays  a short five minute teaching on the Torah portion that week.

Are all welcome at Beth Messiah?
We welcome all people at Beth Messiah. People from various backgrounds visit and attend, along with many Jewish families.

What holidays can I expect to celebrate at Beth Messiah?
At Beth Messiah ,we celebrate the Jewish holidays and festivals. In this way, we worship the G-d of Israel and exalt Yeshua HaMashiach (Jesus the Messiah). We respect Christian holiday observances as they are celebrated in various churches. But at our synagogue, we worship through the Jewish feasts and holy days. If you would like to receive information about the times and dates  of these observances, please give us your address and/or e-mail in the Contact Us section.

What is available for children at Beth Messiah?
Baby sitting is available during both our Friday night and Saturday services. We also have a less formal  children's education program on Friday evening and a more formal on on Saturday morning, both during the services. There is a youth group for ninth grade through twelfth grade (see the youth section) and a Club Maccabee  program for age six through twelve with Bar and Bat Mitzvah traing (see Club Maccabee section)

What is available for adults?
At Beth Messiah, we have a college and career group, a sisterhood, a mens ministry, and couples activities. For more information, please contact us and/or check out our monthly calendar.
